Friends and former bandmates take to social media to express their grief.
Frontman and founder of popular ’90s nu-metal band Static X, Wayne Richard Wells, has died, according to SPIN. He was 48.
The cause of death has not been released. The band’s publicist confirmed Wells’ death to Billboard on Saturday.
Also, there was a brief note confirming his passing on the Static-X official Facebook page. The note touched on Wells future plans, implying his death was both accidental and unexpected.
