It takes guts for someone to call President Barack Obama a “hack,” but when you are a six-time NBA champion, 10-time All-NBA First Team and a 14-time All Star, you have a lot of guts.

Speaking to Ahmad Rashad on the Back 9 Network Thursday, former Chicago Bulls shooting guard Michael Jordan was asked to select his ideal foursome. After naming golf legend Arnold Palmer, Jordan pondered whether he would play golf with the president of the United States.

“I’ve never played with Obama, but I would,” Jordan said. “But no, that’s OK, I’d take him out. He’s a hack. I’d be out there all day playing with him.”

“Do you really want to say that?” Rashad asked, somewhat taken aback by Jordan’s answer. “He’s the president of the United States: He’s a hack?”

“I never said he wasn’t a great politician,” Jordan responded. “I just said he was a sh–ty golfer.”

Obama’s love of golf has long been criticized by his opponents and occasionally his supporters. In August 2014, for example, the president made a statement to the nation about the brutal murder of American journalist James Foley and then played a round of golf on Martha’s Vineyard. Obama later said that golfing in light of the circumstances was not a good idea.
