You know nothing, George R.R. Martin. Actually, the Game of Thrones novelist demonstrated he knew quite a bit while participating in a Game of Thrones trivia game with Amy Poehler while both appearing on Late Night with Seth Meyers.

On Tuesday night, Poehler, who was there to promote her first book, Yes, Please, alternated reading quotes or paraphrases from the Game of Thrones series with host Seth Meyers. Martin was in charge of identifying which character said (or would have said) which line.

He was able to match direct quotations from characters such as Tyrion Lannister but got tripped up a few times by Meyers’ and Poehler’s more comedic offerings. For example, he was unable to correctly identify that, “I’m going to take my top off,” would have been acceptable from any one of the female characters.

After the show, Martin and Poehler were snapped backstage at the show holding copies of each other’s books. Late Night with Seth Meyers posed the photo on Instagram asking if Poehler could perhaps be the “new Mother of Dragons?”
