If you grew up on Reading Rainbow, then you know who LeVar Burton is. If you grew up on Reading Rainbow, then you also know that the books Burton explored on the popular TV show were about as controversial as pumpkin pie on Thanksgiving. For charity, however, Burton felt it was okay to cater to an older audience.

According to the New York Daily News, Burton’s hilarious bedtime reading of Go the F– to Sleep was part of Rooster Teeth’s Extra Life charity campaign. A tweet from Rooster Teeth on Sunday morning revealed that the campaign has raised nearly $500,000 for Children’s Miracle Network hospitals.

The Hollywood Reporter notes that Go the F– to Sleep is authored by Adam Mansbach and illustrated by Ricardo Cortes. Unsurprisingly, Samuel L. Jackson narrated the audiobook version of the hilariously-titled bedtime story for adults. THR notes that Ken Marino and Erica Oyama have been asked to turn the book into a film.

Whether your liked Reading Rainbow as a kid or you’d like to hear LeVar reading something PG-rated, the TV show is being revived thanks to a successful Kickstarter campaign.  The show is expected to make a return as a cross-platform app, which will include a digital library, interactive resources and virtual field trips.
