"It's almost like you're releasing this thing into the world that you spent two years with," Swift said about the album.

Music superstar Taylor Swift shut down Hollywood Blvd. on Thursday when she performed “Out of the Woods” and “Shake it Off” from her new album 1989 on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Just before singing in front of thousands of screaming fans, Swift talk to Jimmy Kimmel about the world that went into 1989.

“It’s almost like you’re releasing this thing into the world that you spent two years with, and it’s just been mine for two years and now it’s everybody else’s. You know, sending it off to college,” Swift told Kimmel.

Although the album was slated to be released on Monday, Swift’s 1989 leaked on Friday, E! Online reports. While fingers have been pointed at both Target (because of recent data breaches) and France (because of a French word substituted for its English equivalent in the original leak), Swift’s fans are furious and quick to condemn anybody who listens to the leaked version of the album.

“The people who listened to the 1989 leak, I’m really sorry but it’s not my fault that I’m choosing to respect Taylor’s album and hard work,” one angry Swift fan tweeted.
