Aaron Paul rips Toys R Us’ recall of ‘Breaking Bad’ dolls: They still sell Barbies

There's a petition, which already has 30,000 signatures, to place the dolls back on the store's shelves.

In the war over whether action figures of drug dealers Jesse Pinkman and Walter White from AMC’s Breaking Bad should be sold at Toys R Us stores, a Florida mom appears to have won the first battle.

Susan Schrijver started a Change.org petition that called on Toys R Us to “immediately stop selling the Breaking Bad doll collection in their stores and on their websites.”

“While the show may be compelling viewing for adults, its violent content and celebration of the drug trade make this collection unsuitable to be sold alongside Barbie dolls and Disney characters,” the Change.org petition authored by Schrijver reads. “Parents and grandparents around the world shop at Toys R Us, online and in stories, with their children and should not be forced to explain why a certain toy comes with a bag of highly dangerous and illegal drugs or why someone who sells those drugs deserves to be made into an action figure.”

Ultimately, her petition, which was signed by nearly 10,000 supporters, was successful, forcing Toys R Us to remove the dolls from circulation. The toy store told The AP that the dolls “have taken an indefinite sabbatical.”

Now, there’s a petition, which already has 30,000 signatures, to place the dolls back on the store’s shelves. Of course it doesn’t hurt when your biggest supporter is Jesse Pinkman himself, actor Aaron Paul.

Paul tweeted his support for the petition Friday after calling out Toys R Us for selling violent video games and Barbies. “Wait, so @ToysRUs pulled all of the Breaking Bad figures from their shelves and still sells Barbie? Hmmmm…I wonder what is more damaging?” the Breaking Bad star tweeted.
