As the entire world now knows, members of the Palin family (including daughter Bristol and patriarch Todd) were involved in what most people describe as a “drunken brawl” last month at a South Anchorage party. After audio of interviews with police went public this week, Bristol was apparently compelled to tell her side of the story in a blog post on Patheos. For her, the truth has not been accurately reported by the media, and she claims news outlets show a liberal bias towards conservative women.

“That’s why, after a month and a half of hearing rumors about myself and family, I’ve finally decided to comment about the situation. Instead of listening to all the people who weren’t there — people who claim they heard this from their cousin/brother/sister-in-law/step-daughter/long lost little brother – let me tell you what actually happened,” she wrote.

The impetus for the kerfuffle, she says, was one person’s intention to “get famous,” which he reportedly tweeted before the action. Bristol says the man’s mother shoved her young sister Willow, which prompted her to exit the waiting limousine and retaliate in her defense. According to her, the would-be celebrity had other plans.

“After I got out of the car, I didn’t get far. I never even got to talk to his mom, because a guy in his late thirties or early forties got in my face.  He was towering over me – probably at 6 foot something and over 200 pounds. He puffed his chest out and started yelling.

‘You c-nt!” he looked right in my eyes and said.  “Get the f-ck out of here, you slut!’,” she claims. This is more or less consistent from earlier, second-hand accounts of the incident.

After he pushed her to the ground, that’s when Palin says she struck him in the face – meanwhile refuting claims that she “swung with a strong right hook,” noting that she’s left-handed and her manicure was intact on all ten fingernails.

From there, she blames the hysterical coverage on the media’s bias towards conservative women. A liberal woman, she says, would have been applauded for her strong, “feminist” actions against her oppressor. She asks if we’ve heard of scandals involving Vice President Joe Biden’s, or a Clinton family associate.

“Of course, you didn’t.  Because the friends and family of the revered liberal elite are treated like delicate China.  Don’t handle too roughly.  They are precious.  They are off limits. Don’t push on them too hard,” wrote the daughter of a wealthy Alaskan family, found drunk and shoeless by police.
