Penelope Cruz is a woman full of mysteries, but Esquire loves her for that.

So much so, the magazine crowned her 2014’s Sexiest Woman Alive.

In addition to her brains and beauty and perfect eyebrows, Cruz’s acting chops have cast her in a big spotlight for awhile.

She’s married to fellow actor Javier Bardem. She’s one of the most sought-after actresses in Hollywood. She’s outspoken in her causes, but keeps her personal details private. She is very easy on the eyes. What more is there to love?

Cruz is serious about keeping her personal details to herself, especially when it comes to her husband, her children and her reaction to her new title.

CNN reports the actress didn’t have much to say to Esquire when asked about her reaction to being 2014’s Sexiest Woman Alive. She told the magazine that she feels more like a “mother who doesn’t get enough sleep.”

The Oscar winner also kept quiet about the details of her elusive relationship with Javier Bardem. The couple wed in 2010 but have known each other since Cruz met him on the set of Jamón Jamón when she was 17.  The Spanish dramatic comedy was her debut film, and Cruz keeps tight lipped about the origins of exactly how the pair first met.

“That is for us,” Cruz told  Esquire and added that her family is the reason why she is not seen often in the public eye. Bardem and Cruz have two children: a 3-year-old son and a 1-year-old daughter.

Cruz follows joins the ranks of previous winners Scarlett Johansson, Mila Kunis and Rihanna.
