The rappers had been insulting each other on social media since Friday.
Not too fancy to have a feud. Iggy Azalea has been caught up in a social media feud with Snoop Dogg, and the animosity between the rappers has gotten incredibly strong and personal.
The argument started last week when Snoop Dogg posted an unflattering picture of unidentified person on his Instagram and captioned it “Iggy Azalea without makeup.” Iggy responded with a now-deleted photo of the rapper captioned “When your drug addict aunt gets clean” on her Twitter. Snoop then compared Iggy to the characters in the Wayans brothers’ comedy White Chicks.
The war of words escalated quickly. Snoop posted several Instagram videos insulting Iggy, including calling her a “f—king c-nt” and threatening her to “shut up before I shut you up.” Iggy responded on Twitter, writing that, “I’m disappointed that you’d be such an ass for no reason,” and, “I never came at you sideways, you took it too far. None of this was needed.” Many commenters such as the Guardian have been quick to point out all the overtones of misogyny in the exchange, as Azalea has mentioned that, “women are supposed to sit back and let men s-it on them.”
Fortunately, the situation seems to have resolved. On Wednesday afternoon Snoop posted yet another video, this time acknowledging that after a talk with Iggy’s manager, rapper T.I., he was done with fighting. “No more bad talk,” he says. “I apologize. I won’t do it again.”
Iggy accepted the apology on Twitter and asked her followers to move on and “focus on the positive things.”
