Neil Patrick Harris will host the Oscars in February

The multi-talented star announced the news via Twitter video on Wednesday.

It’s sure to be legendary! Television, movie, and Broadway star Neil Patrick Harris announced on Wednesday that he will be hosting the next Oscars.

Harris, 41, revealed the news with a charming video posted to his social media. In the video, he is seen getting off the phone and checking off “Host the Oscars” on his bucket list. “I’m in!” he says in the video. “Nice!” Other items on the list include “get married” and “juggle flaming torches.”

As Variety points out, Harris is taking over the reins from last year’s host Ellen DeGeneres, whose stint in March earned the Academy its highest ratings in 14 years. Main producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron will return from last year for the live show on ABC.

Mainly known for his television roles of Doogie Howser M.D. and Barney Stinson, Harris is currently helping his film Gone Girl win at the box office. He has won 5 Emmys and 1 Tony. CNN reports he has hosted the Emmys 4 times and the Tonys 1 time. If he completes his Oscar hosting duties, he will be 1 Grammy show hosting gig away from being the only person to complete an “EGOT” by hosting all 4 top award shows.

The 87th Academy Awards airs in February of 2015.
