The teens were charged with disorderly conduct and three of them were also slapped with assault charges.

According to a report from Reuters, five Ohio teenagers were charged Tuesday with pouring a urine-filed bucket on an autistic boy who was told that he was going to be filmed for the popular ALS “Ice Bucket Challenge,” in which a person dumps a bucket full of ice water on his or her head and then challenges his friends to participate.

Citing Cuyahoga County prosecutor Timothy McGinty, Reuters adds that the teens were charged with disorderly conduct and three of them were also slapped with assault charges.

In a statement obtained by fox8.com, First Assistant County Prosecutor Duane Deskins said:

“The victim and the five charged juveniles were and are friends and classmates. They regularly associate with one another and, at times, engage in distasteful and sophomoric pranks. However, this incident is clearly different. It crossed a moral and legal line, and even the five alleged perpetrators understand that and have expressed regret.”

The New York Daily News reports that the incident, which took place on August 17 in Bay Village, Ohio, was filmed on the 15-year-old autistic teen’s mobile phone and eventually went viral after his community and several celebrities came to his defense.

Celebrities Drew Carey and Jenny McCarthy both offered reward money to help catch the offenders.

“WTF? Just saw this. Horrendous. These kids should be arrested and expelled,” Ohio-native and Price is Right host Carey tweeted. “If the Bay Village PD wants to start a reward fund to find who did this, contact me. I’ll donate $10k.”

The next day, former Playboy model Jenny McCarthy doubled the reward money.

“I’m joining Drew Carey’s 10K Reward to Find Perpetrators Behind Horrible ALS Bucket Prank. Now it’s 20k! #justice,” tweeted McCarthy.
