John Luke Robertson, part of the clan on the reality series Duck Dynasty, is engaged. The 19-year-old proposed to his girlfriend Mary Kate McEacharn on his birthday and she said yes. A photo was posted on both of their Instagram pages, with the brunette proudly showing off an engagement ring while standing next to her fiancé, who held a sign that read Future Mrs. Robertson. The couple started dating around March and has been inseparable ever since.

Duck Dynasty is a reality show on A&E that follows the Robertson family and their business, Duck Commander. It is a highly rated show, breaking several records on television. It has also drawn controversy for the inflammatory remarks made by Phil Robertson regarding gay people. Nevertheless, the series remains on the air. John Luke is Phil’s grandson and the oldest son of Korie and Willie. He has appeared on many episodes and wrote a children’s book. Both he and his fiancé attended Ouachita Christian School. The couple has a lot of photos online of their travels together.

It was a great birthday surprise and following in the steps of his parents who also married young. There is no wedding date set, but after a whirlwind romance, fans are sure to hear about the details soon enough. John Luke said in a statement, “I am so excited to marry my best friend.” McEacharn wrote online, “Happy Birthday to the boy I’m going to marry.” His parents also reacted happily. The Ducky Dynasty clan will be getting bigger, and there may even be mention of the marriage on the show.
