Dreams always start early in life, and thirteen year old Alyssa Carson’s is no exception. Like most young girls, Alyssa is powered by a long term life goal. This is a dream that, even at age thirteen, she is working hard to realize. However, unlike most girls Alyssa’s dream is not something that can come from this world. No, her dream is to be the first person to ever foot on Mars.

With the leaps in both technology and innovation, a astronaut journey to Mars is becoming more and more of a reality as each day. However, merely setting foot on the planet would not be enough for the determined teen. While becoming an astronaut would be a personal achievement, she just doesn’t want to make it to the Red Planet, she wants to be very first person in history to experience the landing. Being in the history books is not an easy thing to do, and it is something that is going to need a lot of preparation.

Alyssa’s dreams may be lofty, but Dumb Out reports that she is already preparing herself for the flight. She is currently studying science in school (and will presumably do so for most of her life) and is also taking courses in several foreign languages to be ready to communicate with the international collaboration of future space projects. In addition, Alyssa is also the first person ever to complete all of NASA’s space camps.

Nothing comes without hard work, and Alyssa is ready to put in what it takes to get herself to the Red Planet before anyone else. She and her father have already planned out the next twenty years of studying and necessary preparations in addition to what she’s already doing. The first human voyage to Mars isn’t set to be at least until 2033, but time has a way of moving fast, and when that ship lands down Alyssa plans to be there.
