Misty Upham: Actress from ‘August: Osage County’ is missing

Misty Upham the Actress from "August: Osage County" is reportedly missing.

USAToday has reported Washington State authority are currently pursuing a search for missing actress Misty Upham, the actress known for her latest role in the Oscar winning film “August Osage Country” 2013, and 2008’s “Frozen River.”

Upham,33, played the family housekeep in August Osage Country was last reportedly seen outside her apartment in Auburn, just south of Seattle, on October 5th. Her father has since reported her missing the following day. Auburn police were sent to investigate and concluded after checking her apartment it had looked as though she had packed her things and left.

Since the evident packing of her belongings the police did not comply with Upham’s father’s wishes to officially list her as a missing person; the packing seems to suggest she left on her own volition and thus her disappearance is explainable, voluntary and not entirely suspicious. These attributes are required by state law along with a three day period in order to officially and efficiently direct resources to appropriate cases.

The Upham family have since admitted they are relying on social media and outlets like Facebook to alert the public of their missing daughter.

It has also recently been reported Upham has been suffering from mental health issues such as making suicide threats in the past and recently changing her medicine, which doctors have confirmed are precursors to erratic behavior.

Charles Upham spoke to  The Hollywood Reporter and admitted he grew concerned after an eerie phone call from his daughter. “She told me and her mom that we didn’t have to worry about her anymore. … I thought it sounded suicidal myself, so I called the police. She’s always been a suicidal person.”
