There’s a baby on the way for Blake Lively and her husband Ryan Reynolds, and the two could not be happier about being new parents.

People magazine reports that Lively made the announcement Monday on her life and style website called Preserve.

The actress wrote a poignant note to her fans on her website while showing off a bit of a baby bump, too:

“With family on our mind, we looked to the origin of it all, to the women in our lives who are right there, at that special moment; at the creation of the family,” she posted.

Her mom-to-be glow was shining in the photos, as well as some she shared of an intimate shower she had with family and friends on Friday. Lively also wrote about her baby celebration on Preserve, letting her fans know just how thankful she was to spend time with her close-knit pals and loved ones.

“With a new baby on the way there is so much to do!” Lively posted.”But before experiencing the joy of 3am screams, seemingly impossible amounts of poop and having a favorite shirt covered in reflux … there are presents to open, onesies to dye, there is cake to serve, advice to be shared and all around celebration to be had. And that we did.”

Lively, 27 and Reynolds, 37 were married in September 2012. The actress told Marie Claire in August that starting a family has always been on her mind, and she is eager to get started. She told the magazine that she’d like to “spit out a liter of kids.”
