The couple had married in 2005 but separated in February of this year.
Hopefully the lines on the filing aren’t blurred. Actress Paula Patton filed for divorce from her singer husband Robin Thicke on October 3 in Los Angeles.
The couple met when they were teenagers. According to documents obtained by TMZ they married in June of 2005 and separated February 21 of this year. People magazine released their statement at the time, which read, “We will always love each other and be best friends, however, we have mutually decided to separate at this time.”
Since the separation, Thicke has been plagued by rumors of infidelity. As reported by Time Magazine, during an April deposition over the copyright for his biggest hit, Blurred Lines, he admitted he abused drugs and alcohol and did not consider himself a “honest person.” He claimed that his troubles had ended his marriage, saying, “That’s why I’m separated. I told my wife the truth. That’s why she left me.”
Despite the rumors, Thicke had made multiple public attempts to reconcile. In March he told a concert crowd that, “I want everyone here to know that I’m trying to get my girl back.” In June he named his latest album Paula.
Patton requested the couple share joint custody of their son Julian, who was born in 2010.
