Return to Terminus: AMC hit ‘The Walking Dead’ is back

Season five is bound to have plenty of intense drama and graphic carnage.

Fans of the AMC hit zombie-fest The Walking Dead remember those final words of last season’s cliffhanger ending: “They’re screwing with the wrong people.”

But actor Andrew Lincoln, who spoke the words as Rick Grimes, offered a more profane version in other takes. The F word was involved. Something we’re not used to hearing out of the character’s mouth.

“It was an interesting thing about that final line,” said Lincoln in an interview with the British newspaper, The Telegraph. “I loved it, and it was actually scripted that way. And I thought it was a very effective way of showing the change in this guy. The guy who was the visible embodiment of authority as the cop; and he never swears…

“But you know, that was a decision,” explained the actor. “It was funny, the take that they used was the only take that I offered them. Every other take, I did the line as scripted. And they said, ‘Andy, we need to do one; we need to have one where you say ‘screwing’. And I said, ‘OK, you’ve got one…’ And of course that was the one that they used.”

This coming weekend, fans will get a chance to see just exactly how Rick, Daryl, and the rest of the gang show their captors at Terminus the error of their ways. Things don’t seem all that encouraging however, they’re all locked up in a train car and it’s been a long six months of speculation as to whether or not our beloved heroes are intended to be fodder for a group of cannibalistic charlatans. Just what is going on at this supposed safe haven that has been luring survivors inside of its walls through most of last season?

Here’s a spoiler free hint from the season premiere airing on Sunday night: it’s bad. Really bad. In fact, things get ugly almost immediately. If this episode, aptly titled, “No Sanctuary”, is any indication, season five is bound to have plenty of the intense drama and graphic carnage that has earned the series an audience of over 15 million viewers.

Just as long as there’s no swearing.
