The photos were taken from the hacked files originally released in August.
For Jennifer Lawrence, the nude photos nightmare refuses to end. Her Wikipedia page was hacked on Tuesday to change the featured photo to a nude shot.
The hacking occurred on the same day that Vanity Fair released their cover story on Lawrence, 24. The Oscar-winning actress spoke for the first time about the August incident when nude photos of her and other female celebrities were posted by user 4chan to the Internet. In Vanity Fair, Lawrence said that she had initially been too ashamed to even comment on the photos but as time passed, she realized she had done nothing wrong. “Just because I’m an actress does not mean I asked for this,” she said. “It does not mean it comes with the territory. It’s my body, and it should be my choice, and the fact that it is not my choice is absolutely disgusting.”
Lawrence also made sure to clarify, “It is not a scandal. It is a sex crime. It is a sexual violation.”
Jezebel reports the Wikipedia page change was active only about 20 minutes before it was changed. A Wikipedia representative described Lawrence’s page as “semi-protected,” which means only registered Wikipedia users can edit it. The representative said the account that uploaded the photos was a “sock puppet,” i.e., a false account made to look legitimate. All history of the photos has since been wiped from the site.
Lawrence has yet to comment on this latest part of the saga.
