Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds began dating while filming 2011’s Green Lantern, and after getting married in Sep. 2012, the couple quickly got to work on starting their family together. The 27-year-old former Gossip Girl star revealed on her lifestyle website Preserve on Monday that she and Reynolds are finally expecting their first child.

Soon after they got married, the A-list couple started talking about their excitement to become parents.

“We both come from big families – my parents did four, Blake’s did five,” Reynolds told Details last year. “A lot of people say it’s crazy, but we’ll only know when we’re there, you know? We’ll walk through that fire pretty happily, I think.”

“I gotta get started,” Lively told Marie Claire in September. “If I could spit out a litter of kids, I would.”

The pregnant actress posted her first baby bump picture on her website Monday, and her Preserve team wrote about the importance of celebrating family alongside the highly-anticipated image.

“Preserve at its core is about family. ‘Family’ is the single word our founder, Blake, built this home on.”

“We have something for men, for women, for the old, but we realized, we don’t have anything for the new. With family on our mind, we looked to the origin of it all-to the women in our lives who are right there, at that special moment; at the creation of family. Today we celebrate them.
