Actress Blake Lively crashed her own lifestyle site, Preserve, on Monday when she made the announcement that she was pregnant with her first child with actor Ryan Reynolds.

The 27-year-old shared a photograph of herself, caressing her baby bump in the glare of a sunrise, along with some Pinterest-style images relating to babies and pregnancy.

The editorial staff of Lively’s site added an accompanying statement that was posted alongside the images, explaining that the month of October would be dedicated to motherhood.

“Preserve, at its core, is about family. ‘Family’ is the single word our founder, Blake built this home on,” read the statement. “We have something for men, for women, for the old, but we realized, we don’t have anything for the new. With family on our mind, we looked to the origin of it all — to the women in our lives who are right there, at that special moment; at the creation of family.”

“Family” is an important word for the couple, who have gone on record more than once about their desire to have a big family. Lively and Reynolds each grew up with multiple siblings. In an issue of Details magazine from 2013, Reynolds was eagerly looking forward to parenthood.

“We’d love to have a big family,” said Reynolds. “We both come from big families — my parents did four, Blake’s did five. A lot of people say it’s crazy, but we’ll only know when we’re there, you know? We’ll walk through that fire pretty happily, I think”

Lively has hinted before that the two would be parents in the near future; speaking with Vogue magazine this past summer, she felt that her husband would be an excellent Dad. “He’s going to be a great father and leader and patriarch — he’s so meant to be all of those things,” she gushed of her hubby. “The fact that he lived so much before we got together, he’s the exact realized person that he should be. And so I get to share my life with the person he’s become, and we get to grow from there.”
