“I'm joking, I'm joking,” Biden then said, “Best decision I ever made. That was a joke.”
Does Joe Biden hates his job as America’s vice president? He joked about playing second fiddle to President Barack Obama during an appearance at Harvard University.
Politico posted a video showing Biden at a Harvard University Institute of Politics event Thursday night. The vice president of the student body, as part of his introductory statement, naturally said, “I’m the vice president of the student body here.”
“Isn’t it a bitch?” Biden responded.
The Harvard student body vice president appeared to have been caught off-guard – laughing hysterically for several seconds.
“The vice president thing?” Biden said to clarify that being vice president is a bitch, not the poor student body vice president or the Harvard student body.
“I’m joking, I’m joking,” Biden then said, “Best decision I ever made. That was a joke.”
When the student body vice president said he hopes Biden loves his job, he assured him, “I do, actually. I love the guy I work with.”
The other topics for the event included Obama administration policies on Ukraine, combating ISIS, free trade deals, and the Ebola outbreak.
Biden was likely expressing his regret over not achieving first place in his run for president in 1988 and 2008. There has been some talk of his running in the 2016 election.
Biden has joked before about his role as vice president. In May 2012, he said, “My mother believed and my father believed that if I wanted to be president of the United States, I could be, I could be … vice president!”
