Two teachers at Kenner, LA’s Destrehan High School were arrested Wednesday on felony charges of carnal knowledge of a juvenile. Kenner police allege that the women, Shelley S. Dufresne, 32, and Rachel Respess, 24, engaged in sexual activity with a 16 year old student that included group sex.

Police were inspired to investigate the matter after the student was heard bragging of his sexual exploits to friends at school. an investigation of a house owned by Respess confirmed that the student had been there together with the two teachers until the early morning hours of Sept. 13.

In an interview with sheriff’s deputies, the student gave an account of the proceedings and confirmed that it was consensual.

As of right now, this is the only incident under investigation at the time. Authorities have not stated whether or not there was an ongoing relationship, of if the sexual crimes occurred in isolated incidents.

No matter what sex the victim is, everyone should be outraged,” Kenner Police Chief Michael Glaser said. “You have educators whose responsibility is the safety of children.”

One of the teachers, Dufresne, is reportedly the daughter of a local judge.
