Amanda Bynes arrested for driving under the influence of unidentified drug

Former child star's legal troubles continue.

Amanda Bynes was put on probation for a reckless driving conviction last February, and the troublesome actress has just landed herself in even more legal trouble. According to TMZ, Bynes was arrested early Sunday morning in Los Angeles Sunday after police determined she was driving “under the influence of a controlled substance.”

The former Nickelodeon star was driving a Mercedes in the San Fernando Valley and stopped right in the middle of an intersection on Van Nuys Blvd. A police officer approached her, and after determining she was under the influence, took Bynes to the LAPD Van Nuys division. A drug recognition officer reportedly determined she was under the influence of a stimulant, and ordered her to undergo toxicology tests to determine the exact drug.

The incident report states that Bynes had a “disheveled” appearance when she was arrested and booked for the DUI. She was able to leave after posting $15,000 bail.

This incident continues the mental and legal struggles Bynes has been having for several years. This will be her second DUI; her first was in 2012, when she allegedly sideswiped a police cruiser in West Hollywood. The DUI charge was dismissed in February after a plea deal put her on three years probation and required her to attend an alcohol education course. She also had to pay a fine upon entering a no-contest plea to reckless driving. Her license was returned to her in April and she seemed to be getting her life back on track, but sources say that after she moved out of her parents home and into her Orange County apartment, she has been smoking weed again. Police have not yet issued a statement on what will happen now that Bynes has violated her probation.
