Former American Idol judge Randy Jackson’s wife has filed for divorce after 18 years of marriage, TMZ reports.

Randy’s wife, 45-year-old Erika Jackson, reportedly cited “irreconcilable differences” in her divorce paperwork.

“Randy and Erika had a plan but at the end of the day she decided to file,” a source told People magazine. “Randy is bummed out. It’s not the way he wanted it to happen or end.” 

According to the New York Daily News, Erika asked for sole physical custody of their son, 17-year-old Jordan. This is the second marriage for Randy, a former session musician for the rock group Journey.

TMZ also reports that Randy and Erika had no prenup, which means that they will split Randy’s estimated $40 million fortune 50/50.

Although Randy spent more than a decade as a judge on Idol, he left the show in 2013, but reappeared in newer episodes as a music mentor.
