As Randy himself might say-- "that sucks, dawg".
Randy Jackson may lose half of his fortune in his divorce. That could mean losing about $20 million dollars.
This is why prenups are a must for a celebrity of any kind. The former American Idol’s wife, Erika Riker, filed for divorce on Friday, September 26 after 18 years together. That may have been the most lucrative decision she ever made because in the end she looks to gain half of Jackson’s $40 million. After 12 years on the Fox reality show, he was earning about $5 million a year. That’s a hefty pay day for splitting up.
There is some silver lining for Jackson though. He did have a career before marrying Riker so according to the law – that money is his. Well that does not seem like a lot considering she could still get $20 million in the end. One has to consider that Jackson had not only Idol on his plate, but was a producer for the wildly popular America’s Best Dance Crew on MTV for seven years.
While there is a lot on the table, TMZ had reported the couple is still living together and getting along. A source said, “It’s not gonna be all Amber Rose and Wiz Khalifa.” Speaking of, that couple has less money involved but acting more dramatic than ever. Rose only looks to earn a million at the end of her divorce to the rapper because unlike Jackson, they had a prenup.
Also unlike Rose and Khalifa, there are no signs or rumors about any sort of infidelity being the reason behind Riker filing for divorce. They married in 1995 and in those years had two kids; 14-year-old daughter Zoe and a 12-year-old son Jordan.
