Pop star Taylor Swift loves carrying her cat Olivia Benson around New York City, E! Online reports.

Plenty of other people carry their cats with them, but they usually place them in some type of cat carrier before going out. Swift, however, says there’s a reason Olivia gets carried around like a child would.

“The kitten freaks out about being put in the cat carrier,” Swift told Access Hollywood. “So I was just like, ‘OK, all right, we’re gonna just do this!'”

“It was like a 10 foot walk from my door to the car!” the super-successful music star said about recently published photos of her carrying Olivia in NYC. “What I thought was funny about those pictures is that, like, the cat is looking straight at the cameras!”

This is far from the only interesting thing about Swift and her kitten. E! Online notes that Olivia is named after Mariska Hargitay’s character on Law & Order: SVU.
