Rock & Rio: Taylor Swift and Metallica amongst variety of performers scheduled next year in Las Vegas

Rock in Rio reveals Taylor Swift and Metallica amongst variety of performers scheduled next year at Las Vegas festival.

Many of us have herd or been to the invigorating city of Las Vegas to gamble, see a performance, or indulge in other more sinful activities. Predominantly up until recently with the induction of the famous Electronic Dasiy Carnival (EDC), the strip city was not coveted for its music scene. Rock in Rio has set out to change that tune by adding a music festival to the city of sin.

The Rio and Rock held in Las Vegas will be featuring performances by artists like Taylor Swift and her breakup anthems, and legendary rock band Metallica for their debut. Festival organizers have reported to NyDailyNews  No Doubt, Linkin Park, The Deftones and John Legend will all also be performing during the stip’s four day event in Las Vegas. With an array of artists the festival hopes to attract all different walks of life, much like the city of Las Vegas.

The Las Vegas Rock in Rio USA debuts May 8-9 and May 15-16, 2015, and should make for an interesting starlit festival.

No doubt was reported to have attended a press conference Friday announcing the lineup in New York’s Time Square, where John Mayer also then surprised the New York crowd with a free live performance of two songs. Mayer performed at the 2013 Rock in Rio festival alongside power duo Beyonce and Justin Timberlake.

A group of supervisors for casino company MGM Resorts have implemented plans to build a 33-acre-open-air music venue on the strip of Las Vegas for the Rock in Rio festival. It is speculated that plans involve building five stages.
