Lena Dunham talks about her disastrous sex life

'Girls' creator Lena Dunham kisses, tells and admits to never having enjoyed sex before she turned 25 in her new book out this month.

Lena Dunham is no stranger to baring it all. She’s often fully nude on her hit series Girls but now she has gotted even more open with a recent Q&A session on YouTube she did in an effort to promote her new memoir, Not That Kind of Girl: A Young Woman Tells You What She’s “Learned.” The actress took on 12 questions but the sex one definitely was the most-talked about one since Dunham admits she did not enjoy it until three years ago.

“’I don’t think I even thought about whether I was enjoying sex until I was, like, 25, because I was so worried about whether other people were enjoying sex with me that it never would have occurred to me that it was an act I was supposed to receive any pleasure from.”

Dunham often covers sex in Girls, so it is no surprise that her character’s bumbling bedroom antics were inspired by her reality. She also went on to point out that her recent boyfriend, Fun.’s Jack Antonoff, was one of the first to make her realize that she needed to start enjoying sex on her end.

“”Before my current boyfriend, who’s a lovely, lovely person, I had a train of the most disastrous, despicable, van-dwelling monsters in my bed and my bed and in my life,” adding, “I realized was having good sex takes two people who want to make each other feel good. There isn’t a person who’s ‘good at sex’ because it’s an alchemy, it’s a thing that happens between two people.”

Not That Kind of Girl: A Young Woman Tells You What She’s “Learned” hits shelves on Tuesday, September 30.
