Two years after giving birth to her son Lorenzo, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi has just delivered her second child with fiancée Jionni LaValle. The former Jersey Shore star gave birth to a baby girl named Giovanna Marie LaValle early Friday morning.

Polizzi’s daughter arrived weighing in at 6 pounds and 7 ounces. The reality star announced the news on Twitter soon after the birth occurred, using the opportunity to let fans know that Giovanna has a full head of black hair and is in great health.

“So happy to let you know we had our beautiful daughter this morning Giovanna Marie LaValle. 6.7 lbs, full head of black hair & perfect,” she tweeted at 7:12 a.m.

Well-known for her love for social media and staying in the headlines, Polizzi could be counted on to regularly update fans with her progress throughout her pregnancy. She also posted about her last-minute pregnancy struggles on her official blog only a couple of hours before giving birth, writing, “I’m at that point where I can’t move, I can’t sleep, I’m waking up 20 times throughout the night, rolling out of bed, waddling to the bathroom and praying … my water breaks and I’m just ready to go at this point.”

Her daughter Giovanna’s arrival came at the perfect time, as the baby will be able to grow up alongside Meilani Alexandra Mathews, whom Snooki’s best friend Jenni “JWoww” Farley gave birth to just two months ago. Farley posted a photo on her own website of her and fiancée Roger Mathews visiting Polizzi in the hospital soon after her friend gave birth Friday.

“My best friend gave birth to a gorgeous baby girl,” she captioned the picture.

The two friends will be returning to television soon enough for the fourth season of Snooki & JWoww, which is set to air later this year.
