Anchorage's Charlo Greene reveals herself as an owner of Alaska Cannabis Club before dropping a curse word and walking out on her job
Could she have possibly been on something? A television reporter in Alaska has made national headlines for a dramatic and somewhat bizarre moment on air. KTVA Anchorage reporter Charlo Greene quit on air on Sunday night with a shrug and an “f-bomb” due to her involvement in a club dedicated to legalizing marijuana in the state.
According to Alaska Dispatch News, Greene was presenting a story on Alaska Cannabis Club, a medical marijuana club started in April that works to connect patients in search of the drug with sources. As the reporter wrapped up the story live, she shocked bosses and viewers by saying, “Now everything you’ve heard is why I, the actual owner of the Alaska Cannabis Club, will be dedicating all of my energy toward fighting for freedom and fairness, which begins with legalizing marijuana here in Alaska. And as for this job, well, not that I have a choice, but f— it, I quit.” She then walked off camera.
The visibly flustered desk anchor threw to commercial. The station’s news director apologized for the inappropriate language on Monday, confirming that Greene’s role had been terminated.
Greene has said that she used such dramatics “to draw attention to this issue.” The state will vote on November 4 on Ballot Measure 2, which would legalize recreational marijuana as in Colorado or Washington.
