The magazine claims that the two have been getting very close and have been "speaking frequently".
Well, as the saying goes: It’s a lot easier to get over a man by falling into the arms of another one. Looks like Mariah Carey is trying this particular tactic on for size.
She’s been crying on the shoulder of none other than Brett Ratner, her longtime pal and collaborator, according to In Touch Weekly.
The magazine claims that the two have been getting very close and have been “speaking frequently” since her split with Cannon. Back in July, Carey was Ratner’s date to the premiere of his film Hercules.
The pair have known each other for 20 years and have worked together more than once. Ratner directed the Grammy-winning singer’s videos We Belong Together and Heartbreaker. The two even vacationed together while she was involved with Cannon.
Page Six reports that Carey has been living apart from Cannon “for months” and is “seeking advice” from Ratner.
The publication went on to report that Carey was busy rehearsing for her upcoming tour, The Elusive Chanteuse Show, which kicks off in Japan on October 4.
Cannon took his feelings to Twitter, earlier this month, saying that he would always love and respect Carey. He added that he would continue to look out for her and her public reputation. He had no love for those who may or may not be bashing her for the split.
“What infuriates me most is to hear people slander@MariahCarey,” He wrote. “I will forever be indebted to her for blessing me with our children.”
The America’s Got Talent host also Tweeted, “People are quick to paint negative pictures and spread rumors.”
