Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger of Nickelback are headed for splitsville after just fourteen months of marriage. Shocked? Don’t be. Lavigne and Kroeger never really seemed as though they were going to last so don’t fret for the couple too much.

Though it the rumored separation  has not been confirmed by either Lavigne or Kroeger, it is expected to be soon. Just last month Lavigne was spotted leaving Hollywood hot spot Chateau Marmont with a group of girlfriends. She was not wearing her wedding ring. While that isn’t a definite sign of marriage trouble — maybe she felt like she’d lose it during her night out partying — it’s not a good sign either.

What is a more definite sign of trouble is the fact that the two singers have stopped following each other on social media in recent weeks. Everyone knows that if you stop following your significant other on Facebook or Twitter then your relationship is doomed. At least that’s the theory.

A source told Us Weekly, via an Australian news site, that “It’s over.” They added that Kroeger “has been going around LA and telling people that they’re divorcing.”

Why would Kroeger go around announcing his divorce before it’s even announced? Is he trying to get the sympathy of  everyone in Hollywood or is he already trying to pick up a new girl by making it known he is available again?

Whatever is going on between Lavigne and Kroeger, it’s their business. Unfortunately, the world will take their relationship and make it into some dramatic story filled with speculation. That part is almost worse than the divorce itself.
