Actress Kate Hudson revealed a spooky side of her. Apparently, she can see dead people. And she isn’t the only one in her family who can do this. Her mother Goldie Hawn can see spirits as well. Hudson, 35, explained what she meant on Alan Carr’s Chatty Man Show in the UK. “It is not really seeing, it is feeling a spirit. A fifth energy, I believe in energy. I believe our brains can manifest into visual things.”

The actress was on the show with Zach Braff to promote their film Wish I Was Here. It is an independent film that opened in July and is funded by a Kickstarter campaign. In the movie, she plays Braff’s wife, and in real life is engaged to Matt Bellamy, front man to English rock band Muse. They have a 3-year-old son together. She was previously married Chris Robinson, front man for the band The Black Crowes. They also had a son, now 10.

Hudson described a creepy encounter she had one time with the ghost of a woman that had no face. She took her sixth sense reference further in explaining what she and her mom would do in situations where they could encounter spirits. “When you see something, you are supposed to tell the energy what year it is and that they don’t belong here”, she said. Hudson said acting calm was the way to deal with the encounter.

Maybe she and Haley Joel Osment have a something in common. With Halloween just weeks away, the actress and her mom could put this ability to good use, communicating with those who have passed on. Or maybe she could just entertain friends. Either way, it makes for an interesting conversation. This will make a memorable interview for Alan Carr’s show.
