‘The Simpsons’ Take Over Hollywood Bowl For Special Performance

"The Simpsons" celebrated 25 years at the Hollywood Bowl on Friday night.

The legendary Hollywood Bowl found itself overtaken by the cast of “The Simpsons” on Friday night. The vent was a star-studded event and included appearances by former “Simpsons” writer Conan O’Brien and singer Weird Al Yanovic.

“The Simpsons” celebrated 25 years of television with “The Simpsons Take The Bowl”. It featured performances by cast members such as Nancy Cartwright, Yeardley Smith and Hank Azaria and included some reminiscing about the longest running scripted television show.

It’s amazing that “The Simpsons” is still on the air in a world where everyone seems to want to watch reality TV or follow the likes of the Kardashians. Despite all that, the show has survived and gone on. One can even say that it has become an icon of sorts.

According to the New York Daily news, the venue was decked out for the show. Life size cutouts of the cast including Bart, Marge, Homer and Maggie, hung above the heads of concertgoers, while new animations that were created specifically for the show, played out on the screens.

“Oh yeah, `The Simpsons’ will go on, long after the human race is gone,” Weird Al Yanovic sang, according to the Daily News. It’s clear that the show is a fan favorite and will not be going anywhere anytime soon.

The show will continue tonight and tomorrow night at the Hollywood Bowl and if you’re a “Simpsons” fan then you’ll be glad to hear that the 26th season of the show will begin airing episodes on September 28. Will you be watching?
