Pia Zadora seriously injured in golf cart accident

Zadora, now age 60, has been hospitalized at the Las Vegas University Medical Center and is expected to make a full recovery.

It has been reported actress and singer Pia Zadora suffered head injuries and a broken ankle on Friday, September 12, after she was thrown from a golf cart driven by her teenage son in Las Vegas.

“It was an inadvertent golf cart accident,” her manager, Brian Panella, told NBC News. “Her son was driving and he took a rather hard turn and she was tossed out of the golf cart.”

Zadora was one of the members of the original Broadway cast of Fiddler on the Roof and has since appeared in films such as Butterfly, Hairspray and Naked Gun 33 1/3: The Final Insult.

Zadora, now age 60, has been hospitalized at the Las Vegas University Medical Center and is expected to make a full recovery, according to her managers. Initially, doctors feared Zadora could have suffered brain bruising, but Panella told reporters doctors do not expect her injures to have a lasting impact.

“She has a teenage son of driving age who needs to stay away from golf carts, but that’s another story,” he said.

It has not been reported whether any alcohol was involved in the incident or if any injuries were sustained by her son. Regardless a broken ankle means your ankle will never be the same and thoughts of sympathy and a quick recovery go out to the singer and actress.
