A new ride based on the animated film Frozen is coming to Disney World. The 2013 blockbuster starring Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel was a major win with audiences. It inspired an award-winning song, and now a themed attraction. The new ride will take the place of Maelstrom at the Norway Pavilion in the Epcot Center. It will include people dressed up as the characters Anna and Elsa, with kids able to greet them.

Frozen tells the story of two sisters, Elsa and Anna on a quest to save the kingdom of Arendelle from an eternal icy winter. Elsa has the powerful ability to create ice and snow, but is scared of the danger. After almost killing Anna, Elsa goes into hiding. With the help of a few friends, including a reindeer, Anna sets off to find her. The Disney movie was a huge hit, going on to make a billion dollars worldwide, and winning 2 Oscars. It spawned lots of merchandise, a catchy song, and now Disney World will introduce fans to a new ride based on the film.

Maelstrom opened in 1988 and will close this October. The basic structure is expected to be kept. The Frozen ride will take visitors on ships through some of the most memorable parts of the movie. It is highly anticipating and will without a doubt delight children who fell in love with the characters. The winter wonderland will come to life at Epcot, and is scheduled to open in 2016. The area the ride will be built is inspired by Norway, designed to reflect the country. In a couple of years, visitors to the park will be able to greet Anna and Elsa, and take a journey through the film. The Frozen attraction is expected to be a big boost to Epcot, increasing tourism there.
