Chris Brown, who received similar domestic abuse charges as Ray Rice back in 2009 reached out to the former NFL player with some advice.
Artist Chris Brown, who pleaded guilty to felony assault charges in 2009 after leaving singer Rihanna bruised and bloodied on a number of assault incidents, claims to know about the anger and aggression issues surrounding the former NFL player Ray Rice.
“MTV News” Sway Calloway in a recent interview asked Brown,25, about how he has been handling his issues of violence, and what advice would he have to offer former Baltimore Ravens player Ray Rice; the star player who has since been cut from the team after videos surfaced showing him assaulting and knocking out his then fiance and now wife Janay.
“To Ray, or anybody else — because I’m not better than the next man — I can just say I’ve been down that road. I deal with situations and I’ve made my mistakes too, but it’s all about how you push forward and how you control yourself.” He continued to add, “I think it’s all about the choices you make. With me, I deal with a lot of anger issues from my past – not knowing how to express myself verbally, but at the same time not knowing how to cope with my emotions and deal with them and understand what they are.”
It seems most fans have come to grips with Brown and his assaults on Rihanna but the same cannot be said for player Ray Rice. Brown still had more to say on the issue.
“So I think help is great. I still talk to my therapist twice a week, and it helps me to…if I’m frustrated and I’m dealing with something, to vent and say what I’m going through so I can hear from an actual clinical person, ‘This is how you should react,’ or ‘It’s good to feel this way because feelings, emotions and energy are supposed to come and go. It’s not supposed to stay there, you’re not supposed to keep it inside, because it’ll just bottle up and you’ll become a monster.’”
