Apple’s new way of paying for things

Apple’s new way of paying for things

A fingerprint could soon be the way of making purchases instead of credit or debit cards.

If Apple has its way, then people will no longer need to carry their wallets with their credit or debit cards to pay for things. Instead, people will only have to match their finger print against an iPhone sensor, and hold it up to a register. And Voila, you have completed your purchase.

This past week, Apple announced the iWatch and iPhone 6 to the excitement of millions of potential customers. But with this newest creation of paying for things via your fingerprint, Apple is looking to continue the lead in the journey to a virtual world.

The latest big Apple idea is called Apple Pay, according to CNN. While the software being used isn’t anything new (NFC also known as near field communication), this way of paying for things by a simple finger print is something that is truly innovative and brand new. A lot of stores across the country have already begun to accept payments through cellular phones, but that process isn’t nearly as simple as pressing a finger against your phone.

While using technology can turn off some people because of the fear of being hacked, the ability to use a finger print almost eliminates that possibility completely because nobody has the same finger print. Also, Apple Pay is expected to work in an abundance of stores, and it is supposed to be compatible with every major credit card.

The debut of Apple Pay is scheduled for next month in October. Only time will tell how successful it is, but if it is nearly as successful as other Apple inventions, then it has the possibility of overhauling a whole way of doing things in America and across the world.
