Hollywood A-list celebrities like legendary Gwyneth Paltrow, Reese Witherspoon and Jon Hamm arrived Friday night in support of the Stand Up to Cancer telecast.

Hollywood A-list celebrities like Gwyneth Paltrow, Reese Witherspoon and Jon Hamm arrived Friday night in support of the Stand Up to Cancer telecast.

The recently developed non-profit charity held its fourth televised fundraiser which broadcasted commercial free on more than 30 different networks while being streamed on Yahoo and Hulu. The event had featured artists who preform during he telecast, among those were Ariana Grande, The Who, Dave Mathews Band, Lupe Fiasco, Jennifer Hudson and Common, who together performed a remix of Fiasco’s ‘Mission” titled Remission.

Remission is available for download through numerous digital retailers, royalties of which will be donated to the Stand Up to Cancer charity.

It was not only music performances that were seen to help raise charity for Stand Up to Cancer, but comedian Will Farrel who performed a routine as Ron Burgundy, the famous news anchor character America and the world has come to love. One of this best lines of the night was – “I love Stand Up to Cancer,” he said. “But we shouldn’t stop there? As a society we need to stand up to Libras and Pisces and Tauruses and Capricorns.”

 

The organizers of the event although at this time do not know how much money was raised Friday night at the Stand Up to Cancer event, they hoped to have raised more than $100 million in charitable donations. The previous three telecast events raised $261 million in charitable donations combined for Stand Up to Cancer.

It is important as a news agency that we recognize celerities in their higher moments, for most of the time we try to catch them slipping and or making a fool out of themselves.
