Jennifer Lawrence sets Guinness World Record

Katniss Everdeen has earned the young actress a spot in the record books.

Actress Jennifer Lawrence now holds the Guinness World Record for most successful heroine, according to the Financial Express.

Lawrence’s role as Katniss Everdeen in the Hunger Games franchise, which grossed more than $900 million worldwide, is responsible for the feat.

Possible competitors attempting to break her record will be given a run for their money.

Promotional posters for the third installment of the wildly popular franchise, Mockingjay – Part 1 have been making the rounds, and creating much buzz, in advance of the film’s November release.

Lawrence will continue her box office ascension with Mockingjay – Part 2, to be released November 2015.

The young actress first turned heads in the independent flick Winter’s Bone. Her role earned an Oscar nomination for best supporting actress. Following her success with Hunger Games, Lawrence earned a best actress Academy Award for the comedy-drama Silver Linings Playbook.

But Lawrence isn’t the only person breaking records.

One Direction were inducted for being the top British boy band to top the US charts with three consecutive albums.

In addition, Miley Cyrus was the most searched person on the Internet.
