The student selling the cookies has reportedly been arrested for selling drugs and child endangerment.
Whoops. Two California students were hospitalized on Thursday after consuming pot-laced brownies that a fellow student was hawking during school hours, Reuters reports. Three others fell ill after ingesting the marijuana edibles.
The students sent to hospital were unconscious when they arrived, but later regained consciousness. The other three, who fell ill, dealt with vomiting and nausea.
Citing Richmond police Capt. Mark Gagan, The Associated Press reports that a 17-year-old student allegedly hawked the pot-laced desserts at De Anza High School for $3 each or, for those who really had the munchies, two for $5.
The student selling the cookies has reportedly been arrested for selling drugs and child endangerment. According to Reuters, the school is putting in motion a plan to expel the individual responsible for the incident.
This certainly isn’t the first time that pot-laced brownies have hospitalized high school students. In April, for example, CBSLA.com reported that pot-laced desserts sent three Lincoln High School students to the hospital. In this incident, one of the students also reported vomiting and being unable to walk.
