Joan was rushed to Mount Sinai hospital last Thursday after going into cardiac and respiratory arrest during a procedure on her vocal cords.
Legendary comedian Joan Rivers, who has been on life support support since the weekend, has been moved to a private room at Mount Sinai hospital in New York City.
“My mother has been moved out of intensive care and into a private room where she is being kept comfortable,” read a statement from Joan’s daughter, Melissa Rivers. “Thank you for your continued support.”
Melissa also confirmed that “at this time [her mother] remains on life support.”
Joan was rushed to Mount Sinai hospital last Thursday after going into cardiac and respiratory arrest during a procedure on her vocal cords at Yorkville Endoscopy.
Although her family, friends and fans continue to hope for the best, an insider told the New York Daily News earlier this week that there are serious concerns about the Fashion Police star’s physical state.
“There is real concern that the part of the brain that controls motor skills may have been compromised, leaving her as either a vegetable or in a wheelchair,” the insider said.
According to Starpulse.com, Rivers’ family is thinking about filing a lawsuit against the clinic that performed the procedure.
