Popstar's legal troubles continue after he gets into a crash and a physical altercation with another driver.
Despite being arrested in January for careless driving and resisting arrest and placed on probation after egging a neighbor’s house in July, Justin Bieber is still getting into legal trouble. After turning himself in to a police station on Monday, the 20-year-old popstar was arrested on new charges of dangerous driving and assault after getting into a collision and then engaging in a fight near his hometown in Stratford, Ontario.
“On Friday August 29, 2014 shortly before 3 p.m. Perth County Ontario Provincial Police officers responded to a collision between a minivan and an All Terrain Vehicle (ATV) on Line 40 east of Road 106. Investigation revealed that after colliding, the driver of the ATV and an occupant of the minivan engaged in a physical altercation,” stated the release from the Ontario Provincial Police.
“Justin Bieber of Calabasas, California U.S.A., has been charged with ‘dangerous driving’, and ‘assault,’ contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He was released on a Promise to Appear and is scheduled to attend at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on September 29, 2014, to answer to these charges.”
“Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez’s peaceful retreat in Stratford this weekend was unfortunately disrupted by the unwelcome presence of paparazzi. This has regrettably resulted in charges of dangerous driving and assault. Mr. Bieber and Ms. Gomez have fully cooperated in the police investigation. We are hopeful that this matter will be quickly resolved.”
No one was hurt in the collision, and police have not yet stated whether Bieber’s physical altercation with the minivan occupant led to any injuries. The incident may mean Bieber violated his two-year probation, and TMZ reports that the Los Angeles County Probation Department is investigating the matter.
