Charlie Sheen to Joan Rivers: ‘Please come back to us young lady’

The 81-year-old queen of comedy and host of Fashion Police has been placed in a medically induced coma.

The Los Angeles Times is reporting that Joan Rivers’ condition remains serious, according to her daughter, Melissa Rivers.

The 81-year-old queen of comedy and host of E!’s Fashion Police has been placed in a medically induced coma, according to the New York Daily News. Other news reports confirm that she stopped breathing during a minor throat surgery on Thursday morning.

Rivers was admitted to Mt. Sinai Hospital and remains in stable but critical condition. EMTs rushed an unresponsive Rivers to the hospital after a 911 call at 9:40 a.m. Thursday. Her daughter Melissa and grandson Cooper reached the hospital by 8 p.m.

CBS News reports that many celebrities have offered their support, thoughts and prayers to the longstanding comedy legend. Donald Trump, Andy Cohen, Kathie Lee Gifford, Joy Behar, Patti Stanger, Alyssa Milano, Kathy Griffin, Larry King, Kelly Ripa, Hoda Kotb and LeAnn Rimes and more have reached out via social media.

Charlie Sheen tweeted an especially touching message of support. He wrote, “@joan_rivers, Please come back to us young lady. Your inimitable genius and compassion keeps a world you set in motion, a lot better every day, love and peace, c sheen (sic).”

“My mother would be so touched by the tributes and prayers that we have received from around the world,” Melissa Rivers said in a statement released on Friday. “Her condition remains serious but she is receiving the best treatment and care possible. We ask that you continue to keep her in your thoughts as we pray for her recovery.”
