The long-awaited celebrity union of the year has finally happened.  Megastars Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie  tied the knot last weekend.

According to the New York Daily News, the nuptials took place on Saturday, August 23 at Chateau Miraval, in the village of  Correns, located  in the south of France. Pitt, 50, and Jolie, 39, own the sprawling, 17th century wine vineyard and estate that consists of 1,000 acres of grape vines, olive trees, evergreen woodlands, ancient aqueducts, a pond and a chapel. The property also includes the 35-room chateau with twin gyms, an indoor pool, a spa and a recording studio. Not too shabby for the newlyweds, who leased the place before purchasing it.

The bride wore a simple, white floor-length antique lace and silk dress with a veil, according to E! NewsShe also wore  a locket containing a photo of her late mother, Marcheline Bertrand. Jolie reportedly walked down the aisle with her eldest sons, Maddox, 13 and Pax, 10, while her daughters Zahara, 9, and Vivienne, 6, were flower girls. Son Knox, 6, and daughter Shiloh, 8, served as ring bearers.

Jolie’s father, actor John Voight, recently spoke out about not knowing or being invited to the wedding, which included 22 intimate guests. It is rumored that the couple wed after being begged by their children for years to tie the knot. The marriage marks the second for Pitt, who was first married to Jennifer Anniston and the third for Jolie, who was previously  married to actors Jonny Lee Miller and Billy Bob Thornton.
