Kate Moss inspires busty champagne line

Bottoms up has become breasts out as Kate Moss' left breast serves as the inspiration for the design of a new champagne glass.

When it comes to champagne it is not bottoms up for model Kate Moss, but breasts out.

A lot of celebrities have wines and champagnes associated with them. The singer songwriter Jenny Lewis just released a wine to go alongside her new album The Voyager, and other celebs like many rappers have made Crystal a staple in the champagne game. Kate Moss however is taking a different approach. While her whole body is usually the subject for modeling, her left breast took center stage as it was used to design a new champagne glass.

British artist Jane McAdam Freud had the task of taking Moss’ breast and creating a new champagne glass. It is not for an art show or museum piece, but for actual use. The glass will launch at 34’s Emin Room. That so happens to be the place the supermodel celebrated her 40th birthday in January. The cup will start to be in rotation for anyone who orders the drink at 34’s other establishments come October 9 later this year.

Legend has it that Moss is not the first woman to have her breast used for this sort of thing. Some say French queen Marie Antoinette started it all back in her day in the 18th century. Of course, that is hearsay that historians continue to debate. As for Moss, she believes it and is happy to be a part of the tradition.

“I was excited to participate in this project – what an honor to be alongside Marie Antoinette – she was a very intriguing and mischievous character,” adding, “Champagne is always associated with celebration and happy occasions and I had fun creating this beautiful coupe.”
