“I’m about to lose it, man/I’m about to go Gucci Mane,” Montana raps in the song.
When it comes to your sophomore album, it always helps to enlist your pals, and in this case to do some hefty name-dropping.
Billboard reports that French Montana is just about ready to release a single titled, Gucci Mane, featuring Rick Ross and Lil Wayne. Kanye West and The MeKanics are producing the single, which will be featured on French’s upcoming album Mac & Cheese 4. Here is an excerpt of the lyrics from Billboard:
“I’m about to lose it, man/I’m about to go Gucci Mane,” Montana raps in the song.
The reference to Mane more than likely includes Mane’s highly-publicized and allegedly drug-addled Twitter meltdown last year. It could also be a reference to Mane’s recent incarceration. Yesterday the rapper was sentenced to federal prison for three years and three months on a firearms charge. According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, Mane has served 11 months of the sentence already.
Montana told Billboard that he’s taking the direction of the album into his own hands, which includes a little help from those very famous friends of his. Harry Fraud is producing Mac & Cheese 4, alongside West. Macklemore is also rumored to make an appearance on the album.
Fraud told Billboard that the new single, “may make people nervous.”
The first single from Mac & Cheese 4 is called Don’t Panic and was released August 12. The song was produced by DJ Mustard, who is known for his trendy, club- appropriate beats.
Montana told radio station Power 106 that the new album will be released this November and will include guest appearances from Rick Ross, Puff Daddy, Miguel, and those in his Coke Boys crew.
