Floyd Mayweather was called out by rapper 50 Cent on Instagram and after a few days, he has finally responded and actually one-upped 50.

Apparently, Mayweather doesn’t like to be challenged. According to MTV 50 Cent told Mayweather to “Read a full page of a Harry Potter book without starting or stopping or f–king up”.  If Mayweather accepted, 50 would donate $750,000 to charity of Mayweather’s choice.

While it may seem like something simple and in good fun, apparently there is the issue that Mayweather can’t really read well. He may be one of the richest men in the world, but literacy comes hard to him.

Since Mayweather obviously has trouble reading he decided to reply by using his bank balance instead. He posted his own Instagram post saying ““Read this $72,276,000.00. God bless.” He accompanied his words with photos of two massive checks he wrote. Obviously, he is trying to let the world know he has more money in the bank than 50 will ever have. 

While it’s great that Mayweather responded, the fact is that there was an opportunity for a charity to get over half a million dollars out of the challenge or for Mayweather to talk about his trouble with literacy and impact children who can’t read.
