Hollywood is still reeling from the tragic and unexpected death of legendary comedian Robin Williams. At 63, he committed suicide, devastating family, friends, and fans. Various people in the entertainment industry were saddened to hear of his passing. A somber and low-key memorial is arranged in the Bay area.

Williams was a comedian who had a successful career in film and television. He was known for his hyper, manic style on stage, and was considered a genius in the genre. His best work includes Mrs. Doubtfire, Dead Poets Society, and Good Will Hunting, which he won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor. With Billy Crystal and Whoopi Goldberg, he founded Comic Relief USA, a benefit to raise money for the homeless. Williams was known as a man who made countless people laugh, who had a great heart and gave back to others.

The comedian was also open about his struggles with sobriety. He had alcohol and cocaine addictions and went to rehab a few times to get sober. Though he was successful, other health issues got in the way. In 2009, he had open heart surgery, and this year checked himself into rehab again for treatment. To add to that, he had the early stages of Parkinson’s disease. Perhaps, most telling was the fact that he was dealing with severe depression. On August 11, he was found dead and the news spread quickly. Fans gathered to mourn and pay their respects with makeshift memorials.

Williams was married three times and had three children. His third wife Susan Schneider is coping with his death. For the memorial, a source said, “It will be small. They were both very private people.” Williams has several upcoming films due in theatres. The world continues to grieve at the loss of a comedic icon.
