Mixed-martial-arts (MMA) fighter War Machine, accused almost two weeks ago of brutally beating ex-girlfriend, adult firm star Christy Mack, has been arrested in Simi Valley.

War Machine, who legally changed his name from Jonathan Koppenhaver, was found by police and taken into custody Friday about 1:45 p. m. at an Extended Stay hotel in Simi Valley, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Machine went to Mack’s home in Las Vegas from where he was living in San Diego, what Google Maps clocks as over a four-hour drive, and found Mack with another man, “fully clothed and unarmed,” as Christy posted in picture format on Twitter.

She details her injuries resulting from his beating her and stabbing her with a knife: “He made me undress and shower in front of him, then dragged me out and beat my face…. My injuries include 18 broken bones around my eyes, my nose is broken in 2 places….” she details a ruptured liver, stab wounds, a fractured rib, and numerous missing and broken teeth.

She adds, “I believed I was going to die. He has beaten me many times before, but never this badly.” She says he had broken the knife he was using to stab her and went to the kitchen to find a new one. This was when Mack saw her chance to escape.

“I ran out my back door…. I hopped the fence… Naked and afraid he would catch me, I kept running through the neighborhood knocking on doors. Finally, one answered and I was brought to the hospital and treated for my injuries.”

According to officials, War Machine is being held without bond on a fugitive from justice federal charge in the Ventura County Jail.

Authorities had issued a warrant for his arrest on Tuesday, almost a week after the incident, giving him various charges including several counts of battery and assault with a deadly weapon.

War Machine gave his account of the incident over Twitter on Aug. 10, saying he had intended to surprise her and give her an engagement ring but “ended up fighting for my life. The cops will never give me fair play, never believe me.” According to Mack, the two had broken up in May.
